HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

 

Statement of Intent 

  • The policy of The Artroom is to safeguard, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of all our students and team members. 

  • This applies, in particular, to the provision and maintenance of safe systems of work (SSoW), and covers all equipment used by team members and students.

  • The Artroom also takes as much care as is reasonably practicable to ensure the health and safety of other people who may be affected by our activities. 

  • The Artroom considers that it is essential for this policy to operate satisfactorily and, to fulfil this aim, it is very important to have the full co-operation of all the team members and students who use the Artroom. 

  • Therefore, The Artroom gives every encouragement to its team members and students to make suggestions and have discussions on any aspect of health and safety. 

  • It is the firm belief of The Artroom that, by having a sound attitude to health and safety requirements, not only will the wellbeing of all be assured, but also The Artroom will ultimately be more efficient in its use of resources. 

  • To this end, The Artroom will ensure that all adequate resources are made available to ensure that the statutory obligations for health and safety are fully met: risk assessments for material, equipment and procedures used at The Artroom are available for inspection.

  • One member of the team will hold a current 1st Aid certificate. 1st Aid equipment will be held in the Artroom.
